Loop & your shop reimagined
“Loop is a not a product company; it’s a waste management company. We’re just looking at waste before it begins.” So says Loop founder Tom Szaky, an environmental veteran who has now turned his talents to reimagining a circular solution for grocery shopping. If there is one thing that unites each and every colleague, friend and parent in our everyday circles, throughout Europe, it is the dismay at the mountain of the packaging we through away after a trip to the supermarket.
Loop has taken the beauty of packaging-free food stores (like Gram), reimagined them for the age of ecommerce, and combined them with the world’s favourite brands. Striking partnership deals with the likes of Unilever, P&G and Nestle, Loop sells their products but offering in a fully circular solution - in special, durable containers that Loop pick up, clean and fill up for you. As a consumer, you simply pay a ‘hire’ charge for the packaging.
What Loop are doing is showing us, and the brands they work with, what the future must look like. A solution like this is fully feasible, from the brands themselves, now. We can only hope Loop quickly convince them of that.
Loop is available in selected states in the US, France and coming to the UK this winter.
