Mission 2020 & bending the curve

Christiana Figueres, chief architect of the Paris Agreement, has launched Mission 2020 to highlight the ‘need for speed’ in accelerating climate action ahead of the UN Climate Summit in September 2019, and the upcoming 2020 deadline by which time we need to have ‘bent the curve’ on emissions.

She does so with her signature, and vitally important, method of consciously injecting optimism and a smidgeon of humour into the debate to get governments and private actors on board and encourage them to gather the political will to reach higher levels of ambition in their climate policies.
