Matthieu Ricard's Altrusim
Ricard is a Tibetan monk, with a mission to break the silence of his tradition and inspire the world with its teachings. In Altruism, he makes a compelling argument for how the genuine concern for the wellbeing of others can transform our economy in the short term, life satisfaction in the mid term, and the environment in the long term. Rarely has an opus been written that combines the imperative for love and compassion with the economic and scientific arguments for development of our world. It's a big book, and his view has already been taken up by some of the most prevalent thinkers of our time.
